Singing Tilda

My friend Susan's Mom's birthday is this Friday and Susan asked for a pretty card to dazzle her Mom with.  This singing Tilda stamp is new and I was anxious to use her because I knew she'd glitz-up well.  And it did.  I was going to print "happy birthday to you" near the musical notes but was worried about messing it up, so didn't!  Perhaps Susan will sing when she gives it to her?

Grandma's

One of my colleagues in the Sault just had her second grandchild - actually it was a couple of weeks ago, but I've slipped a little!  Regardless, this was my first opportunity to use this stamp I bought at Scrapping Great Deals last fall!  It also gave me the opportunity to do a card of a different shape - instead of the standard square or rectangle!

Spinster

This lovely Kraftin Kimmie image I bought with 2 people in mind - both of whom spin and weave or did at one point in time.  I am happy to be able to use this one to thanks to Chantal's (my card making friend) mom who made our group all lovely hand-made towel/pot holder combo's to hang on the oven handle and hand-woven dish cloths.  It was a lovely surprise, and I wanted to make sure I thanked her mom appropriately! Sketch is #141 from Friday Sketches

Sad Goodbye

One of the managers who works with us is leaving to go to another job, and while we're happy(ish) for him, we are very sorry to see him go, because he was a great manager and a really nice guy....oh well, things have to change I guess.  I used the template from Friday Sketchers and modified it slightly. I do find it much easier to do a card using somebody else's layout!

House Mouse Shower

These little House Mouse images are among my favourites, which is why I used them in making my sister Debby's birthday card.  Debby is a wonderful woman and should be celebrated every day, but on her birthday especially.  I tried to make this one extra special, hence the bling, ribbons, flowers and glitter!

ARRRR Matey

One of my former boss's birthday is in a week or so.  He's an avid boater so I always think of a nautical theme when I think of him -- but I was tired of doing boats and thought this cute little pirate deserved a showcasing.  Rob is likely going to wonder why in the world a pirate, but my only excuse is that I like it!

Bossy Miss

This card is for a friend and colleague whose birthday is also March 9.  She is a boss, but she's not all the bossy but I do like the image!

Birthday Fairy

Although this card is for an April birthday, I decided to post it now as I used the template from the Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge this week.  The person this card is for loves fairies, and this one is so pretty, I'm sure she'll like it!

Edwin's Happy Birthday

A guitar-playing colleague of mine celebrates his birthday in April and since I'm at April in my yearly cardmaking schedule, I figured I'd use this opportunity to enter this week's Magnolia Challenge - Anything Goes.  I could have used glitter, but didn't think Dan would appreciate it!

Howdy Pardner

This is a birthday card for a friend - who as far as I know, has never expressed any interest in cowboys or sherrifs.  But, the image is manly, the friend is a man, and I like it and I like him...so, as far as I'm concerned, everything matches!  used the sketch from this week's Friday Sketchers challenge blog and duly entered my card..  I have also entered the  Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #68 - use of twine or floss.  Even though I've never won a contest, I am having fun entering - surprisingly giving my overly competitive nature!

Butterfly Goodbye

One of my colleagues has just been offered a new job in another ministry, so she'll be leaving very soon.  This has been a long haul for her so I wanted to make something sort of cheery, as I'm sure that although she's happy to have this new job, she'll be sorry to leave some of us behind.  I am also entering this card into the Cute Card Thursday's something spring challenge and the The Crazy Challenge contest.

Just Keep Swimming

One of my former bosses, and a really nice guy is about to have some pretty serious surgery so I thought I'd make him a combination get well soon and chin up kind of card to help speed his recovery.  I decided rather than try to find contests to enter with cards I've made, I'd do it the other way around and see what contests are asking for then do a card to match!  Novel approach made it a bit easier.  So, I've decided to enter this card into the Cards for Men challenge this week - theme is Water.  I'm hoping that the fish swimming in a bunch of bubbles implies water!  I've also entered the Crafts and Me Challenge Blog - Under the Sea

Birthday Girl

March 9th is Princess Emily's 5th birthday - and while I hope she doesn't boot her presents around like the girl in the image, it is within the realm of possiblity.  I actually bought this stamp with her in mind.  The twoonie is hidden under the flower on the bottom right of the card.  Hopefully there won't be too much mangling getting it off!
