Bird Fairy Thinking of You

I think this is the best colouring job I've ever done - I can only say I think I'm definitely improving.  Sadly, this card is for my friend whose Dad died, but I chose a fairy and purple because she loves both.  I think she'll like this one.

Deepest Sympathy

Sadly, one of my work colleagues/friends just lost her Dad.  They were very close, and at this time of year it makes it even more difficult.  I made this card for my boss to send to her; and will make my own in a little while.  The image is actually 3 stamps, and incredibly some of my own drawing!  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Poor girl!

As I said in previous posts, there appears to be a lot of sick people in my acquaintance!  This card is for a very nice woman and friend of mine who has been sick for a while.  I hope she recovers soon both because I want her to feel better, but also because she was to travel to India for Christmas!  Here's hoping.

Gotta love that worm!

This must be my favourite stamp because I've used it 3 times lately!  I did change up the colours though so that's good.  This is for another sick work colleague, and is for my boss to send to her.  I almost hate profitting from other people's bad fortune, but, better me than Hallmark!  Regardless, although I like the card, I'm really going to have to work on colouring leaves - these are okay, but not lively enough. Oh well!

Totally Tool

I have taken the afternoon off, rather than risk spending Christmas in prison!  At home I can work blissfully on my cards and just generally relax.  However, there appear to be quite a spate of sick people at work and among my friends - not a good think.  I routinely make cards for my boss to send to people, and this is one that is destined for one of our construction guys who has had better days to be sure.  Not having any blueprints lying around, I found an image on the internet, copied it into Word and adjusted it to increase that "construction feel".  I hope it cheers him up.  I certainly felt better after making it so maybe it will work!

Krista's got blog candy

My friend Jenn's blog made reference to this blog of Krista's, one of the Kraftin' Kimmie designers.  She does beautiful work, so I encourage you to check out her blog -- Jenn you've already been there, but you can go again!  Here's her link:  http://craftylittlepigtails.blogspot.com/

Try and enter - and good luck!

Little Boy Brown

I just love my new Lily of the Valley stamps, and look forward to any opportunity to use them.  Lucky for me, unlucky for the recipient, I had to do a get well card for someone, and I always find doing cards for men to be particularly difficult, and making a card for a man to give to another man even more so.  Undaunted though, I made this one which I think is semi-manly looking and very cute.

Sweet Little Girl

I got this stamp specifically so I could make a card for Emily because the little girl reminds me of Em with her hair up.  When we were there this past weekend, Emily was recovering from having hurt her poor little knee and asked for a card saying I was happy she was better.  What better image to use than this one?! And, to add to coincidence, the manufacturer or this stamp is Sarah K, and Emily's mother, my daughter is Sarah Kathleen -- what's up with that?

New Baby

My ex-husband's wife's son (yes you read that right) has just had a new baby - first "blood" grand-daughter for Joan.  It was a perfect opportunity to use one of my new Lily of the Valley Stamps.  The bunch I just got, thanks to Maria, are just gorgeous, and will be featured in cards to come.  Now that my Christmas cards are over I have a new lease on life!

Little China Doll

I have a Chinese friend whose birthday follows the Chinese lunar calendar which is incredibly complicated to do the conversion to.  Her birthday is the 17th day of the 11 month and because the calendar is a lunar one, every now and then, she gets 2 birthdays in one of our calendar years.  This year is such a year!  Luckily I bought this Magnolia stamp with her in mind so I was ready for the second one!
Materials:  Stamp: Magnolia; DS: DCWV - Far East Stack; Flowers from my drawer and Colour by Copic.  I also used some of my Spica markers to give a bit of gloss to the flowers and parts of the robe.

And, that's a wrap!

Since I also managed to finish the kids cards today I figured I might as well post them and the missing one from the last selection!  With the exception of the first card which is Stampin Up, the remainder of these images here are all Kraftin' Kimmie from the most recent November release.  I wasn't initially overly fond of the mice, but now I love them.  Paper is all SU; Colour by Copic. Glitter by Stickles.  On the 4 bottom cards, which are the ones for the kids, the circles hid twonies!

Merry Christmas -- Cards, Cards and More Cards

There are 10 pictures in this posting -- 2 that demonstrate the number of cards I have made, and 9 of the individuals.  There are actually 10 individuals but I'm too pooped to go back and photograph the last one.  I hope you like them Jenn - since you appear to be the only one reading my blog - and believe me, I appreciate it!  The majority of the stamps are Stampin' Up, with a couple of Kraftin' Kimmie's thrown in for good measure.  The background paper is almost exclusively SU; and the embossed background is Cuttlebug.  Colour by Copic of course, and any glitter used is Stickles.

And here we go ....
