Get Well Soon Darcy

One of my colleagues recently had quite a health scare.  Fortunately he has survived, but I think luck had a lot to do with that.  And, luckily he's on the mend although won't be back at work for a few months.  In the meantime, I had seen this card (or one pretty darn close to it, on Pinterest -- originating at Splitcoaststampers by the poser fitlike --- I must confess, I cased this baby almost entirely I liked it so much.  Thank you to "fitlike".

Happy Easter

Another series of cards - this time for Easter for my grandchildren; and little friends.  As usual, the $2 coin is under the egg.  All images this time are from Digital Delights by Loubyloo -- super cute!  I've used some of her images before and always been pleased with the selection and service.  Try her out!  This is a series of 6 cards --

Speaking of Bling ..

As I've noted before, my regular card recipients now look for bling -- and no one moreso than my mother-in-law.  This Christmas, she didn't get any bling on her card - but then again no one did...and last year on her birthday she didn't get bling either because it just didn't go .... and I heard about my not having added bling (not in a mean way).  So, I figured, if Sandy want's bling, Sandy will get bling ... The whole card was bling and glitter.  And she loved it!  It was fun to make as well -- and I do like those little Oddly Sweet Curiosities!

Kraftin' Kimmie - Goddess Series

One of the women I work with is an extremely elegant, beautiful woman- inside and out.  This image of a goddess (sorry can't remember which one) by Kraftin' Kimmie seemes to personify Carey so I chose it for her.  I kind of goofed up the eyes, but other than that, I'm happy with the job I did.  The additional bling helps too - although I told my friends (stupidly) that depending on how much I like someone I add more bling.. now everybody looks for bling on their cards!  And let's face it, sometimes bling isn't needed or just doesn't go!  My fault.

Magnolia - International Girls

My granddaughter Emily has become fascinated by all things Indian -- possibly because her "boyfriend" is Indian - but who knows.  Regardless, Emily just turned 7 so I thought this image of a little Indian girl by Magnolia  would be good for her.I think I should have used a different background paper or maybe tried to jazz the card up a bit, but the image itself is nice I think.

Memory Box Butterflies - Get Well

As I've mentioned before, when one of our staff has a positive, or negative life event, my boss sends them a card - made by me.  I do them because I like making cards; I like my boss; and I like the people I'm sending the cards to -- in fact, if I didn't like them, I'd suggest my boss go and buy a store-bought card!  As it is, this card is for one of our colleagues who has some pretty serious back problems.  They recur frequently and the sufferer is often off for months.  We wish this person well and hope they can return to work soon!  The white-on-white doesn't show that well in the picture, but it looked pretty impressive in real life!

Nicholas's 8th Birthday - He's the Cat's Meow

As time goes by and I rely more and more on digital images, I find myself drifting into my stamp cupboards (yes I have a few - stacked) and looking at some of my older stuff.  This Stampin' Up set is very cute -- I can't even remember why I bought it at the time, but for my little Nick it is perfect as he is a major cat lover.  Unfortunately for him his mother is quite allergic to cats, so no little kitty in his near future, although he tells me that when he's a man he's going to have 3 cats - and maybe a wife!  We'll see!!

Thank You Gisele - Kraftin' Kimmie

Right now at work we're in the process of doing major renovations -- which meant packing and moving years of accumulated crap; disposing of some; rearranging others; personal and office stuff.  It will all have to be moved back when the renovation is complete as well.  Gisele at work is one of those fabulous people who always helps; never grumbles and just keeps trudging along.  She worked like a Trojan with this move and I felt that we should do something for her.  So, 2 of the managers and I chipped in and got her a gift certificate at a local spa so, when this is all over, she can go enjoy herself.  I thought this Kraftin' Kimmie girl in a bath was appropriate!
