Tilda & Cat - or Emily and Mandy - you decide!

My little Emily has a cat, Mandy -- and I bought this Magnolia stamp because it reminded me or her.  It was a lot of fun to colour but I will say the cat was challenging.  Likewise I had a bit of an airbrush mishap - hence the butterfly which is covering a bit of a splash!  The flowers are a mixture of ones I got from Scrappin' Great Deals and the Dollar Store -- you decide which are which!
Stamp: Magnolia; CS - SU: Background Paper: K&Company; Colour -- Copic!

Things Can Only Get Better!

After having spent the past few days with my grandchildren - 2 of whom are rambunctious boys - 5 and 1.5 years old, I can only marvel at my daughter Megan's grasp (sometimes tenuous) on sanity!  When I first saw this Mo Manning stamp I thought of Megan -- so now that my house is quiet again, I took the opportunity to make this card for her.  I'm not too sure about the addition of the buttons, but it seemed to need something else!
Materials:  Stamp: Mo Manning; Card Stock: SU; Embossed bit of white paper: Sizzix; Nestabilities square and scallop; Colour by who else but Copic!

Motherly Love

My former neighbours just had a baby girl which gave me the opportunity to make a baby card -- I love doing these!  Thanks to Stephanie I was able to stamp a bunch of her Stampabilities image and thought the one here was the cutest.  I saw the layout in a Magnolia magazine and quite liked it so used it here.  It is a joyful picture I think -- and I'm noticing I'm becoming obsessed with flowers!  Oh well.  I've included the inside which may look creative but actually ended up this way to cover a mistake.  I was almost finished the card and ready to stamp the sentiment inside when the inked stamp fell off of the block (!!!!!) landing on the freshly decorated inside.  I had to cut a little circle from the same paper I used on the front and cover it up.  Thankfully it turned out okay!

Fishin' Teddy!

Well, this colleague of mine saw this stamp while Maria and I were looking at stamps on Scrappin' Great Deals website --  during a well earned break at work (!!) and she really liked it.  She asked Maria to make her a card.  I bought the stamp, so I made the card --- unfortunately because I'm not always paying attention, I can' t remember the occasion so had to be vague on the outside and inside!  The inside has a water-mark(ish) of a large fish and no sentiment.  Still, I think he's kind of cute and will be quite useful for manly/fisherman type cards.
Stamp:  High Hopes; Nestabilities Label; Sizzix bubble impression folder; Hemp and Burlap.  Colour by Copics.

A little pot of chicken soup

I just got a new bunch of stamps that I could use to prepare "get well" cards and the ones I picked up from Whiff of Joy are perfect.  This little girl holding a pot of what I have determined is chicken soup will hopefully be what my customer wants.  One of my colleagues needs a card to send to one of his colleagues who, unfortunately has a brain tumour - fortunately operable and the prognosis is good.  I hope this card cheers her up!  I've decided to show the inside of the card as well because I like it!

Materials:  Stamp on outside: Whiff of Joy; Inside: SU; Butterflies - Embosslit; Bow by Bow Easy; Flowers - some cheapies I picked up at Michael's detached and spray painted.  Background Paper by K&Company  Colour by Copic.

LITTLE BOY BROWN

The little boy behind us will turn 1 in August, and I do like to recognize important birthdays and milestones.  This is one of the Mo Manning stamps I bought on our girls weekend to Toronto and its the first opportunity I've had to use it.  They are so cute and so fun to colour.  And since I seem to be willing to sit in my basement for hours colouring, that's a good thing!
Materials:  Stamp and Sentiment:  Mo Manning; Paper: My Big Ideas Block of Paper; Embossed strip - Sizzix bubbles folder; Colour -- you guessed it - COPIC!

For my boys

When I saw this stamp I just had to have it because it reminded me instantly of Nicky and Danny - my two adorable grandsons -- who will be coming to visit for a few days in a couple of weeks.  I miss them terribly and wish we could see them more often, but the 6 hour drive (because we're stoppers) is a little long for frequent trips -- Poor John is not as young as he used to be!!!
Stamp:  Flower Soft; Paper: some bulk block stuff!  Colour by Copic; Sewing by me!

Worldly Women

This is a birthday card for a 40(ish) friend of mine --- definitely closer to 40 than 50, but what the heck - I like the image and the saying.  Note the touch of grey in her hair for realism!  The inside of the card completes the saying (not shown here) --- The whole message is --- I've entered the snapdragon part of my life ---- Part of me has snapped and the rest is draggin'!  Too cute!
Stamp:  Inky Antics; Bow by Bow-Easy; Nestabilities and Martha Stewart Glitter
Don't forget to look at the next card in my blog - it's very cute!

Happy Birthday Kiera

Kiera is a delightful 3-year old to be who visits her Nanny Barb next door.  And since I've become quite fond of her, decided to add her to my birthday card list.  And because she's a little sweetie, have -- as I always do, hidden a twonie under the Enjoy your Day flower.  The image was a lot of fun to colour and it was nice to find a good excuse to use it!
Stamp:  Mo Manning - "Oh the places you will go"; Background Paper: SU: Sentiment: SU;  Nestabilities and lastly - colour by Copic.

Welcome Little One

One of my co-workers in the Sault is about to have a baby, if she hasn't already had it these past few days.  She knows its a boy hence the blues in the card.  I just love the Stampabilities little mice and rabbits -- this one is called Blankey - for obvious reasons.  He just looks so cuddly.  And, don't forget to look at the other 2 cards I posted today!
Materials:  Stamp: Sampabilities: Paper: SU: Sentiment: SU; Colour by copic --- airbrushing by copic and sparmax. Embossed background: Sizzix

Peaceful scene

This is a congratulations on 30 years service card for a man who loves peace and serenity.  The Stampscapes stamps are just the ticket for serenity!  I've begun doing them on glossy paper - last one was on just photo paper and this was on SU's glossy stock.  The ink has a tendency to pool a bit but if you're patient (which I'm not) it will dry --- I resorted to the heat gun to speed things up....note the use of highlighting to display a sunwash!  Watched the video on the stampscapes site and I'm getting a bit better at it.
Materials:  Stamp:  Stampscapes; Sentiment: SU: Background cardstock - embossed with SU Texture Plate; Corners - SU Corner punch; Markers:  Copic and Airburshing by Copic and Sparmax.

Get Well Soon

I must confess that making cards for a man I don't really know is quite challenging - especially one who is really quite sick - so you can't be too flippant about the whole thing.  So I settled on the truck from SU's Thoughts of Father -- manly yet pretty.  And I just love the Sizzix embossing folders and what they can do.  I'm getting quite adept at my airbrushing if I do say so myself --- especially since I don't have to use a mask - I'm not too messy!
Materials:  Stamp and Sentiment:  SU: Paper: SU - Really Rust; Embossing Folder: Sizzix; Markers: Copic! Airbrushing - Copics and the Sparmax TC-2000!!! (Sounds very powerful doesn't it!)
